Rita Ranch

Legend has it that Rita Ranch, on Tucson’s southeast side, was named after actress Rita Hayworth by one-time beau Howard Hughes.

According to the 2004 book “Howard Hughes: The Untold Story” Peter Harry Brown and Pat H. Broeske, Hughes and Hayworth carried on a torrid affair in 1947.

Today, Rita Ranch is a great place to live, work, and raise a family. It is serviced by the renowned Vail School District and borders the Vail Community to the East and Corona De Tucson to the South.

The Loop and the Fantasy Island Bunny Loop Mountain Bike Trail intersect Valencia in the heart of Rita Ranch. There is plenty of shopping and restaurants in the area, and soon there will be the addition of Home Depot and Tractor Supply.

The area is also in a dark sky initiative, so if you like to look at the sky but you don't want to live too far from the city, Rita Ranch is a great option.
